Where to Get Married in the Bay Area: A Photographer’s Top Picks

After 5 wedding seasons in San Francisco (and over a decade as a wedding photographer), I’ve really seen it all when it comes to wedding venues. Even before picking a date, booking a venue is one of the first things that a couple does when planning their wedding… Choosing the right venue is crucial in bringing your wedding dreams to life! From urban restaurant locations to wineries with dozens of acres — the first step is narrowing down the style of venue you’re interested in. I’m going to break down some of my favorite Bay Area venues by the style/vibe for you to help you narrow down your search!

Wineries

With wine country only an hour away from SF, wineries are one of the most popular styles of Bay Area venues. There are many reasons to love wineries but here are a few of my favorites —

  1. Venues are often easy to get to with plenty of parking and space for guests

  2. Outdoor ceremonies and reception spaces (imagine: guests dining at long wood tables under twinkling lights! So romantic)

  3. Gorgeous views of rolling hills!
