The Palace of Fine Arts is a great location for an engagement session but there are a few things to keep in mind…
Like all touristy San Francisco locations, it’s best to schedule your session on a week day to beat the crowds. If you’ve got to do a weekend, there is a silver lining! There is a large pond surrounding the Beaux-Arts architecture, which gives you a backdrop with minimal people in sight!
The sun rays shining through the dome is one of my favorite shots! Because the sun sets earlier behind the Presidio, it’s best to get to this location about an hour before sunset. I recommend pairing the Palace with another spot like Marshall’s Beach! That way you can take the fullest advantage of golden hour!
This is definitely a location that I’d recommend wearing a more formal outfit. I think the stunning backdrop is just begging for a flowy dress like Meghana is wearing in their engagement photos!
