Set A Date - Fast!
Setting a wedding date is crucial! Namely, this is a factor that affects all your other arrangements, so act fast! Just keep in mind that you can only secure your time slot up to three months in advance. If you are booking a regular civil ceremony and you’re eyeing a specific date and time, be sure to jump on it as soon as it becomes available! Check their calendar and reserve a spot here.
Options for booking include:
Civil Ceremonies: These are the cheapest option and the most booked. They go quick! So be sure to set your alarm for 3 months in advance of the day and time that you want to reserve.
Fourth Floor or Mayors Balcony Reservations: You can reserve these spaces for 1 or 2 hours. This option is a bit more expensive but still very affordable. It’s a great option if you’ll have family and friends with you! They have the option to include chairs for your guests and will have them set up prior to your reservation. Thehe vise reservations don’t go quit as quick as the civil ceremonies and can be reserved earlier than 3 months in advance.
Booking photography
You do not need a date secured with City Hall to secure your photography with us! Reach out with your tentative date and time and we’ll give you our availability. If you are unable to get the original date, please keep us in the loop and we can transfer your retainer to the new date. To secure our services 50% of your package is due when we sign the contract. Once that is done, you will be officially booked!
How much photography coverage will you need?
We offer San Francisco City Hall wedding photography packages that start with an hour of coverage, but if you have more than four guests (not counting you and your partner), you will need at least 1.5 hours — trust us. So, be aware of the timing when making your booking. Depending on the schedule of your day (ceremony time, lunch or dinner plans, hair + makeup, etc.), sometimes it makes more sense to do portraits before your ceremony and sometimes it’s better to do them after. Schedule a call and I will help you pick the best timeline for your day!
Plan in Advance (Or don’t)
Three months out, schedule your marriage license appointment and your civil ceremony time at City Hall. We suggest picking up your marriage license on a separate day for a smoother experience on your wedding day. It’s always better to schedule sooner rather than later but sometimes life doesn’t work like that! We’ve had couples reach out as last minute as 3 days in advance and we were able to create magical city hall photography! If you aren’t able to secure a ceremony time reservation, there are always other options. For example, you could bring your own officiant and do your own thing in an area of city hall that isn’t reserved. When in doubt, reach out!
